How to Help
How to Help:
There are many ways an individual or business can help at the HACAP Food Reservoir. Take a look below to see how you can help!
Volunteer:
Whether it's a few hours a week or more, there are many ways you can help provide food for the hungry. And no matter what your job skills or training is, there is a volunteer job for you! Food donations need to be checked in and food boxes need to be made. And we always have special projects!
We have a current need of volunteer drivers. Drivers must have a chauffer's license and must be able to drive a 24' straight truck! These volunteers will assist in picking up food from our local donors and or delivering to partner agencies.
We also have a current need for community volunteers to assist in data collection for our 2014 Hunger Study. Please contact Amy Anderson at 319-393-7811 or aanderson@hacap.org
Donate:
Financial donations help operating costs which includes warehouse equipment, food purchasing, staff and food transportation. A $1.00 donation allows the Food Reservoir to purchase approximately 3 meals.
Food donations are an important source of food for our Food Reservoir. You can organize a food drive at your work, school or church. A food drive increases the awareness of hunger in our community and provides an opportunity to help solve our hunger problems. See the list below to see what food is MOST NEEDED:
